CROSS-BORDER STRATEGY XII, organized by the International Business Club under the Faculty of International Economics, University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM, has become an annual national-scale academic competition. Over more than a decade of development and continuous quality improvement, the competition has established a solid reputation and made a significant impression in the student community, especially among those passionate about international business and economics. This is not only a valuable platform but also a gathering place for talents with breakthrough ideas, becoming a launchpad for talented, creative, and enthusiastic students.
“Sustainable Supply Chain” is a comprehensive management system, from sourcing raw materials to production, distribution, and consumption of products, with a strong commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility. This field includes optimizing resource use, minimizing waste and carbon emissions, promoting fair and ethical labor conditions, and enhancing long-term economic efficiency. Businesses adopting sustainable supply chains not only gain a competitive advantage but also contribute to building a more sustainable and responsible future for the world.
Associated with the theme “Sustainable Supply Chain” is the standout storyline of “Black Hole”, which will accompany the theme throughout the competition and each round. Set in a future where the Earth has exhausted its resources and food is scarce, humanity stands on the brink of survival. This scenario reflects real-world issues like environmental pollution, resource wastage, and social problems affecting the global economy. At this juncture, humanity’s only choice is to leverage all knowledge about black holes to transcend spatial limits and find new, sustainable life. The story of brave astronauts with a desire to conquer the universe, determined to become heroes for the planet, aiming for eternal life, promises to be an incredibly strong source of inspiration.
When discussing the theme “Sustainable Supply Chain”, the image of the universe is the most fitting representation because the universe embodies eternity. The deadly black hole symbolizes both mystery and lurking dangers. Can a new life or a ray of hope to save humanity be found beyond the black veil? These questions pose a grand equation that needs solving, representing the answer to whether hope for new life can truly be realized. Transform into astronauts, embark on a challenging journey, which is not only a survival struggle to find sustainable life but also requires persistence, knowledge, intelligence, creativity, and adaptability to overcome each challenge, piecing together the sub-equations to form the most optimal solution for the grand equation, with the goal of turning hope into reality. In practical terms, this raises the big question of how to build a sustainable supply chain and address related issues.
Cross-Border Strategy XII with the theme “Sustainable Supply Chain”, consists of three rounds, viewed as challenges in the grand journey, opening up sub-equations to resolve directions for the rays of hope from the black hole through smart and teamwork-based solutions. Each round requires the astronauts to showcase their skills, knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. So, if you:

ROUND INFORMATION:
Preliminary Round: Celestial Awakening - Online Test | 9/25/2024 - 9/27/2024:
After successfully registering, Teams will take a multiple-choice test in English to test their professional knowledge over 2 days, 9/25 - 9/27. The round is divided into three rounds, with one main round and two additional rounds. In addition, the first 20 teams/individuals to register will have the opportunity to experience a single Mock Test before the main round.
Semi-final Round: Hyperstellar - Case Study | 10/01/2024 - 10/12/2024:
Including Semi-final 1 (online case study) and Semi-final 2 (direct case study). The teams will solve case studies on real-life situational questions with the theme “Building a sustainable supply chain”. The top 4 teams with the highest scores after 2 Semi-final rounds will advance to the Final round.
Throughout the preparation period for the 2 Semi-final rounds, the teams will be supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced Mentors.
Final Round: Supernova - Project | 10/13/2024 - 11/10/2024:
The top 4 teams will compete in 2 rounds to select the most deserving winner of the program.
- Round 1: Build and develop a project to solve a real-life supply chain problem
- Round 2: Debate
Throughout the preparation period for the Final round, the teams will still be supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced Mentors.
