Finding the PhD student to study in Water Quality Management at Kyungpook National University (KNU) is one of the leading national universities in Korea.
Research Topic:
The PhD candidate will work on field measurement and numerical studies for flocculation and fate/transport of cohesive sediment in the water environment. She/he will participate in field investigation on hydrodynamics, water quality, and fluid mud dynamics in a river or lake, especially regarding cohesive sediment. She/he will then analyze the measured data with various geo-spatial and statistical tools. She/he will be involved in development and application of the flocculation kinetics to a large-scale, multi-dimensional cohesive sediment transport model. The task will include implementation of flocculation kinetics to an open-source CFD code, such as TELEMAC and OpenFoam.
Expectation:
Eligibility: Master or bachelor degree holding candidates with academic background from environmental, chemical, civil engineering or other related academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. A valid English proficiency test score (TOEFL 530(CBT 197, iBT 71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600, TOEIC 700 or higher) is required for students from non-English-speaking countries.
How to Apply & Procedure:
Candidates should send required documents (CV, copies of academic transcripts and English test result) by email to: hoqueyt@gmail.com before 18 October 2020.
